　　1.Academics: Being a history major is great. It adequately prepares you for a career in law school, graduate school, or even the general business world. There is a lot of reading, studying, and writing papers-- but the workload is not unmanageable.

You want to make an enrollment shopping cart so you can be ready to register when your enrollment date comes along, but the chances of the classes filling up before your date comes along are more likely than not. So that can be very stressful. However, you can still choose to be waitlisted for the classes that you want.

I got a 4.0 in high school and then got a 2.9 my first semester here because I didn't know what it took to do well in hard, large classes. The professor won't know you in a group of 250 if you never go to their office hours- SO GO. I got grades changed because they knew me and knew I tried hard. While we are a state school, a lot of the programs here are difficult (especially the math and science programs). I see a lot of people transfer after first semester because they thought it was going to be easy. However, I do feel like my degree will be worth something. ALWAYS check your prof before on ratemyprofessor, a good prof makes a difference.

The workload is normal. It really depends on the major. Kelley School of Business workload has been heavy the last five-years. It’s a very competitive program.
