  Learning service

The Learning Services Department is composed of two departments: Inclusion and Curriculum. The department is located in the office of the 60th District Board of Trustees in Fort St. John's. We support the needs of students and faculty in all 22 schools in our district, including approximately 6000 students.

The Department of Learning Services is guided by the ideas and goals in the district's framework document (link) to promote student learning. Learning Services is committed to providing quality inclusive education to all students in our school district through cooperation with students, schools, teachers, administrators, parents, and other departments in the school district (including technical services, indigenous education, careers, and ADST).

  Curriculum and Assessment

The Curriculum and Evaluation Department website provides information and resources for educators, including unit and lesson plan guides, evaluation directions, indigenous education materials, and early learning courses. It also provides regular updated readings, seminars and other opportunities.

  Technical Services

The technical service department is responsible for maintaining data systems, computers, networks, libraries and MyEducation BC. Technical service personnel include an IT manager, regional network administrator, WAN expert, senior local area network expert, and five local area network experts (LAN). We also have a Vice President of Innovation and Technology District, 2 Library Media Technicians, 1 Student Information Service Coordinator (MyEducationBC/Paradigm Shift) and a Clerk. The teaching director is responsible for supervising TS and participating in various projects, planning and support.

We provide 25 sites and approximately 2,800 computers to a school district of approximately 6,000 students. Our geographic area is 33,000 square kilometers, and we can reach the school through our offices and shops in Fort St. John’s. The actual school district catchment area is much larger, reaching more than 90,000 square kilometers.

Online libraries and resources give the district’s 60 students access to countless educational resources and literary works. The following options are available to students, teachers, and parents.
