  Calgary Catholic School District Application Process

  Step 1: Application Stage

  a) Pay a $250 CAD administration fee (non-refundable)

  Payable to: Calgary Catholic

  Note: This can be paid by bank draft or Canadian funds draft.

  If payment is not sent with the application, your application will not be processed

  Return to sender.

  b) Sign and complete all International Student Program application forms.

  c) Provide a copy of a valid passport.

  d) Provide a copy of your birth certificate.

  e) Provide a copy of your Catholic baptismal certificate (Catholics only).

  f) Provide original or certified true copies of the last two official transcripts/school records for the copy year.

  (Note: This must include the school stamp, grading scale and English translation. Students must also have passing grades in all subjects in order to be considered. Entry renewal has been completed once a year.

  g) Provide a copy of a letter of recommendation from the student's principal or teacher.

  h) Provide a signed participation agreement form (grades 7-12 only).

  i) Provide a copy of proof of address (the address the student will leave).

  j) Provide a copy of the current study permit (if already in Canada).

  k) Optional: Provide a copy of IELTS or TOEFL scores (Grades 9 - 12 only).

  Note: If the student is in grades 7 - 12 and a parent (unassigned guardian) will be staying with them

  Confirmation is required that the parents are living with the student for the entire duration of their studies. A copy of this form will be sent to 请联系international@cssd.ab.ca. Additional Step 1 Information: For K-6 students only.

  Upon completion, a Participation Agreement International Student Application will be emailed to you.

  A completed International Student Application form will be emailed to you confirming receipt of the Parent Living with Student form.

  Host families if required

  Calgary Catholic School District uses the Canadian Homestay Network. Please complete the Canadian Homestay Network Homestay Application Form.

  Step 2: Admissions Phase

  a) If a complete application package is received, the student will be notified via email within two weeks of receiving the complete application package

  whether the student has been accepted.

  b) An invoice will be sent to cover tuition and health insurance. If applicable, homestay invoices

  will be issued by the Canadian Homestay Network (CHN).

  c) Submit an electronic copy of the notarized custodial declaration form (pages 1-2 for minors).

  (Note: This does not apply if the parent will be living with the child in Calgary. If using a host family with a CHN, the CHN will provide custodian information.)

  d) Once all documentation is complete, a Letter of Acceptance (LOA) will be sent via email

  All fees are paid in full. LOA will be sent by email only if specifically requested.

  e) Please apply for a study permit from China as soon as you receive the LOA.

  Step 3: Receive your student visa 

  a) Send the approval letter sent by Immigration before coming to Canada or send the student S-1 visa/sticker in your passport by mail tointernational@cssd.ab.ca.

  b)Send student arrival and departure dates tointernational@cssd.ab.ca arrives in Canada.

  c) The International Student Team will send you an English appointment form via email; complete a language assessment at the St. John's Reception Centre.

  d) Prior to arrival in Canada, after completing the reservation form at 将表格通过电子邮件发回international@cssd.ab.ca.

  e) The team will email you the reservation date confirmed by the St. John's Reception Centre prior to arrival in Canada.

  f) Upon arrival, obtain a copy of the original study permit (issued by the immigration officer when the student arrives) 必须通过电子邮件发送至international@cssd.ab.ca. (Note: this step is very important and the team will complete this step immediately upon the student's arrival in Canada)

  Step 4: Registration Phase

  Official registration and English language assessment is completed at the St. John's Reception Centre. The international student team will need to complete the booking form which contains a list of applicable dates Reservations can be made for the student and their legal guardian.

  The legal guardian must accompany the student on this booking. No alternatives can be allowed. The appointment will take approximately 3 hours.

  Please bring all listed documents to the appointment: original valid original passport, original study permit, original or copy of birth certificate, original or copy of Catholic baptismal certificate, original or certified true copy of official transcript/school record with school seal, grading, English translation, copy of acceptance letter, notarized copy of custodian declaration form, page 1 and page 2 for minors (This is for N/A. K-Grade 6 students), proof of address of custodian or relative where student will be staying in Canada (driver's license, utility bill, etc.).
