留学申请选校的时候，更多人会将目光投向于院校教学实力，学校的综合排名以及中意院校的专业排名。在IDP君在和申请者的聊天过程中，也会发现其实有很大一部分学生在基本上确定院校范围的时候，接下来主导选校的参考因素可能就会发生巨大的转移。这个时候专业和院校已经不再是最重要的因素，更多地申请者可能会将地理优势纳入选择的范畴。
为什么院校所在地的地理优势在选校后期能够成为主导因素?IDP君认为主要有三点;
1)：留学海外不仅仅只是学习，同时也是一段长达四年的生活经历。依傍硬件设施更好的城市的大学，生活水平可以得到保证。
2)：气候是不是适合自己，不想去太冷的或者太热的地方，那就选择一个适中的地方。还有安全因素，哪里更安全，哪里犯罪率低就去哪里。
3)：依托地理优势，无论对于在校生还是毕业生来讲，找到兼职就业都会拥有更多机会和选择。
